Amie Baker,
CIP/ICU Student Representative |
Ah end of term! When all that hard work comes to fruition and the gray days of March make way for April sunshine. Here’s a chance for a quick breather from a hectic end of term schedule, lots has happened over the past two months, it’s all in store in this issue of Plan2Plan. Meet your new CIP Student Representative Adam Cooper. Check out highlights from the CAPS conference and CIP Council meeting this past February. Guelph student Christina Keys writes about her research on organic food in Bolivia. There’s news from planning schools, an update on the WorldLink Internship program, videos and a variety of web links related to planning. I’ve also included some helpful employment links! Don’t forget, student members can post their resume on the CIP website!
Looking ahead there’s still time to submit projects for the student poster exhibition at the CIP National conference this July. Volunteer forms for the conference are also still being accepted. The deadline is May 16th. Students receive a rebate on their conference registration fee when they volunteer. Looking for a place to stay in Winnipeg? Justin Lee past CAPS president and Winnipeg resident offers his advice on where to stay during the national conference. The conference itself is being held between the Winnipeg Folk and the Fringe festivals, and following the conference the Planners network is hosting their conference. You’ve probably seen their ‘Winnipeg Flat not Boring’ postcards flying around.FFor all you food systems and planning enthusiasts this year's CIP conference will feature a food stream.
Best of luck for the end of your term!
Cheers,
Amie L. Baker
2007-2008 Student Representative
