It is with great pleasure that I can finally write the words – the CAPS conference is done and it was a success! I am sure that the U of T organizing committee is enjoying having their lives back. On behalf of all the attendees, I would like to say thank you for a great conference and a great time in TO. The keynote speakers were interesting and provocative, and the social events took us to a variety of entertaining places – there is nothing like a little cross-Canada karaoke to bring students together.

Now that the conference is done, we move on to our next group project. Nominations are open until March 21st for the position of CIP Student Representative – details on this can be found later in the newsletter. This is a great opportunity for someone to make an early contribution to the future of our profession and as the soon-to-be former Student Rep I can say that it is a great time (and very busy, but fun). Ballots and statements from the candidates will be mailed out to all student members at the end of March.
Of course the end of the 2005 conference also means planning must now begin for the 2006 conference. I hope you will take a few minutes to read about next year’s conference to be hosted by the University of British Columbia.
Over the next couple of months I will be sharing in the anxiety and rush of second semester deadlines while looking forward to a summer of job hunting, a few vacation days and the CIP National Conference in Calgary. I wish everyone the best as you put the finishing touches on your final projects.
A là prochaine!
Susanne
